I only got started with my zettelkasten project and friends who use similar tools like obsidian or roam have sent me posts about how people struggle to maintain their second brain.
The article of Dan Shipper ¹ argues that all the benefit from using bi-direction linking led to the pain of knowing where to put a note
From my perspective there is a clear difference between taking notes (to-do lists, daily notes, etc) or capturing thoughts to connect down the stretch to build up knowledge.
He concludes that a fix is to enable search which I got our of the box (to a degree) via the template ² I use to host my personal foam project, which supports local search & full-text search.
